Students of the International Erasmus / Mundus
in Viticulture and Oenology Master visited Estação Vitivinícola
Amândio Galhano (EVAG) in Arcos de Valdevez on the past day June
17th.
The viticulture component of the master degree is
coordinated by Professor Nuno Magalhães from UTAD (University of
Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro). There are 20 students of
different academic backgrounds and they are from 15 different
countries. Among others they come from China (the largest
group), Moldova, Russia, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Chile,
Brazil, Poland and Spain.
The visit was coordinated by João Garrido and Teresa Mota,
that presented the Demarcated Region of Vinhos Verdes and the
work and experiments that are done in EVAG. The technical visit
to experimental vineyards gave students the opportunities to
place questions and doubts about technologies and practices in
the Vinho Verde Region. After visiting the vineyards, they
visited the experimental winery where EVAG presented the white
and red Vinho Verde wines that they produce.
