Vinho Verde on Uncle Sam's land

Continuing the international promotion policy the Comissão de Viticultura da Região dos Vinhos Verdes (CVRVV) is going to promote wine tasting sessions in the United States of America. On April 7^th Vinho Verde will arrive to the city of Dallas and on the 8^th to Houston. The targets of the wine tasting sessions are professionals of the wine sector (economic operators, importers, distributors, restaurants, hotels, sommeliers, wine clubs and opinion leaders/makers).

One of the several wine tasting sessions will be oriented by the sommelier Charlie Arturaola.

The United States of America is one of the main export markets of Vinho Verde. Comparing the years 2005 and 2006, in 2006 the sales in liters resulted in an increase of 18.8%. This means that in 2006 the USA acquired almost 2 million liters of Vinho Verde (1,903,963) which represents € 4,052,556.
