Brief Description

Low quality white grape variety, authorised in almost the entire Demarcated Region, except for the Monção and Lima sub-regions. Highly productive, it produces unbalanced and low quality wines.

Synonymy: also known as «Rasbigato», «Ribagato», «Rabo de Gato», «Rabisgato», «Estreito Macio» and «Rabo de Carneiro»; it is the «Médoc» of the Douro region and the «Rabo de Ovelha» of the Dão and Alentejo regions.
