The Department of Wine Management is the responsible for the
certification and administrative control of the denomination of origin, with particularly
emphasis as to how producers registered with the CVRVV manage their current wine accounts,
and for supplying and controlling the seals of guarantee.
Control of the current wine accounts is based on the following
documents:
- Vintage and Production Report; essential for the management of the
viticultural market and for the producer himself. It is used for statistical purposes and
for determining the volume of wine that has been made.
- Bill of transport; must accompany all wine in transit; used to control
the circulation and movement of wine after it has obtained the Vinho Verde Denomination of
Origin Certificate.
- Seals of Guarantee and Authenticity: The numbering of the seals of
guarantee and authenticity issued to producers after their respective labels have been
approved requires strict control.
- This department is also responsible for issuing the various required
documents and for supplying information to the public.
